Hi! I’m Krista! I’m an EMDR trained, licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress. I am dedicated to helping individuals find their voice to fight against shame. I believe that counseling is a safe and healing space to begin the redemptive process towards finding freedom to become one’s most authentic and truest self.
I have been working individually with clients since 2014 and have experience working in a variety of mental health settings including community mental health, substance use, community college, and private practice therapy. I graduated from University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2014 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have a minor in Dance and am trained as a Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator as well! I love to utilize expressive and somatic interventions into therapy as a holistic way to address concerns. We are body, mind, and spirit. To negate one of those areas would be like cutting off a part of ourselves! So, I look to interventions that include all three together. Faith can be a foundational support for clients to navigate the hardships of life. If your faith is something you would like to utilize during sessions, please let me know and we can discuss this further.
I find that my happy place is “playing” in a variety of forms. Whether it be board games or DND with my husband and friends, imaginative/creative play with my two children, or running outside with our dog Albus, play is what speaks to my soul. Finding ways of connecting to those simple joys that ground us is so crucial! I find joy in cups of coffee, Harry Potter fandom, dancing in the kitchen, and being out in nature.
